Parylene Properties
Different varieties, or “chemical variants”, of parylene exhibit very different properties. The diX brand has a purity far exceeding our closest competitor and it was the first, and currently the only, parylene to enter the market with a purity of over 99%. There are only a few manufacturers of parylene in the world, and most have a purity which does not surpass 93%.
Our diX parylene has consistently served the needs of companies across many industries, the majority of whom acknowledge the importance of a pure dimer for better coating results. Our Kisco diX brand of parylene is the recognized market leader in product purity.

Kisco’s diX Parylene provides ideal barrier properties. It is Conformal, pin-hole free and can adhere to almost any surface. Parylene is used to uniformly coat and protect virtually any product or component, including diverse substrates such as most types of metal, glass, paper, resin, plastics, elastomers, PCBs, ceramic, rare earth magnets, wire, ferrite and silicone, among others.
Key Properties
- Increase dry film lubricity
- Excellent water/humidity barrier
- High dielectricity, low dielectric constant and low dissipation factor.
- Exceptional in the prevention of rust and corrosion
- Strong chemical/solve resistance (acids, alkalis, solvents, other chemicals)
- Excellent gas barrier properties
- Biocompatible and non-toxic
- No measurable out-gassing
- Thermal stability up to 450°C
- UV resistance
During the coating process, which occurs in our own branded coating equipment, the resulting film thickness can be uniformly controlled in the micron range to conform to any shape.
There are several varieties of diX parylene, each possessing unique properties. Kisco is constantly adding to its portfolio of products and currently manufactures more variants than anyone in the industry. Nine of our parylene dimer types are presented below.

diX C
Our standard and most widely used parylene type. diX C is one of the most robust variants. Thermal stability: 120°C (in Air), 260°C (in oxygen free environments). diX C is used by in many industries including LEDs, Medical, Automotive, Electronics, Aviation, and Defense
diX N
Non-halogen parylene - widely used on silicone rubber products and other elastomers. Thermal stability: 100°C (in Air), 240°C (in oxygen free environments), dix N is used in Medical and Electronics applications
diX D
High thermal stability : 140°C (in Air), 260°C (in oxygen free environments) PCBs applications for Automotive, Electronics, Aviation/Aerospace and Defense Applications. Special order with minimum quantities required.
diX HR and SR
High thermal stability and solder resistance. Also offers barrier characteristics similar to diX C. Thermal stability: 150°C (in Air), 260°C (in oxygen free environments) These dimers are used in: LEDs, Medical, Automotive, Electronics, Aviation and Defense. SR is now a standard parylene for automotive pressure sensor applications.
diX NR
Non-halogen and high thermal stability grade. Thermal stability 120°C (in air), 260°C(in oxygen free enviroments). diX HR is often used in the Electronics applications which non-halogen is a requirement.
diX CF
Extreme high thermal stability up to 300°C (in Air) and 400°C (intermittent exposure or in oxygen free environments), diX CF is appropriate for use in LEDs, Automotive, Electronics, Aviation and Defense applications. Special order with minimum quantities required.
diX SF
UV resistance and extreme high thermal stability up to 300°C (in air) and 450°C (intermittent exposure or in oxygen free environments), diX SF is often used in the LEDs, Automotive, Electronics, Aviation and Defense markets.
U diX C
Exceptionally pure diX C. Designed for organic semiconductor, organic EL, and MEMS applications. U diX C allows for 1nm coating.
diX A and AM
A Bioactive parylene, designed for Medical and Biomedical applications. Used to enhance adhesion to DNA, enzymes, and proteins. These functionalized parylene have the potential to create any type of functionalized surface you require.
diX H
A Bioactive parylene, designed for Medical and Biomedical applications.
